Our Courses & Programs

All of our courses at TalkingMH are evidence based and accredited. They include the 12 hour Mental Health First Aid course and a suite of shorter 4 hour workshops such as Conversations about Suicide. We can also create tailor made course and programs to suit your organisations specific needs.

Course types

There are core Mental Health First Aid courses to learn how to assist specific population groups, and specialised Mental Health First Aid courses to learn how to help someone experiencing a specific crisis or situation.

Accredited and evidence based

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses are based on evidence of what is best practice mental health first aid to support someone who has a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis. This evidence has been developed in partnership with the University of Melbourne, through developing Delphi method guidelines that cover a number of mental health problems, crises and in different contexts. All MHFA courses are then evaluated, using rigorous scientific methods, to ensure they are having a positive impact.

Customised workshops tailored to your organisations requirements

We can also customise courses and develop programs to meet your organisations needs as we realise a one size fits all does not always work. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Jodie was an extremely accommodating facilitator. The course was well structured and ran to time. Jodie encouraged open discussion with all of the participants. Her knowledge on mental health was second to none, this was one of the best training sessions I have attended.
